A street with a good name
Although all along the Montparnasse cemetery, the name Gaîté is given in 1870 to this street where, in times past, a succession of balls and cafes with dance floors took place in this ancient road connecting the Montparnasse barrier to Clamart.
The Montparnasse Theater and the Bobino music-hall
The Gaîté-Montparnasse Theater and the ancient Bobino music-hall are two of the most beautiful jewels of this street, where many artists like Joséphine Baker, Brassens, Coluche (who’s tomb is at the Montparnasse cemetery, not far) became famous.
