Cartier Fondation for Contemporary Art

The French architect Jean Nouvel has created this glass and steel building. Since 1994, it holds the headquarters of the Cartier Fund for Contemporary Art. Numerous exhibitions take place here all year round.

 

For the living artists of the world

Surrounded by a garden created by Baumgarten, the Cartier Fund is located at 261 Raspail Boulevard, at the heart of the Montparnasse area.

 

The vocation of the Cartier Fund is to present the works of living artists from all over the world and to promote a great range of contemporary pieces: painting, sculpture, and also photo and video.

 

Diverse exhibitions and events

The activities of the Cartier Fund are also turned towards the organization of exhibitions in France and its surroundings. It includes cultural events like theatre, music or dance, relative to these exhibitions.

 

Since its creation, the Cartier Fund for Contemporary Art has diversified its programs in order to include “one man shows” or theme events.
